What are your plans for the three day weekend?
The weather is supposed to be sunny & cool, so we're planning to head to the local Blackberry Festival. We usually head down there just about every year since it's a nice, local festival that has good food and a small array of street vendors to browse. Planning to grill up some skewered chicken tonight that I've been marinating since yesterday & eat dinner outside on our deck, if weather permits. Probably invite our group of friends over to our house and hang out around the fire pit with the citronella candles & torches lit at some point this weekend, too. Other than that, we'll just be lounging & enjoying our time together. Have a happy & safe Labor Day everyone!
What do you love about where you live?

The weather, because it really doesn't rain that much in WA. All the family oriented activities that are avail to us on a regular basis. Now, the blooming cherry blossoms...
What do you think is too serious to joke around about?
I have never, but never, heard a funny joke regarding the holocaust or the death of a child. Both subjects just seem too touchy in my opinion.
The holocaust, I mean really...do I even have to explain this one? What could possibly be funny about genocide?? The persecution of the Jewish people and all the tragedies inflicted upon them - how could that possibly be construed into a joke that was worth laughing at? No thank you.
Personally, anytime I hear about any child coming to harm or dying I tear up or outright cry. It strikes to close to my heart. It makes me think of how I would feel if I were that child's mother and/or the situation were to happen to my own child. And to laugh about it? Not happening...at least, not with me.
What do you most hate sharing with other people?
Pillows, bed linens, blankets, and towels. I will not share these things with anyone other than my immediate family and/or other close blood relatives. Seriously. Don't get me wrong, if you stay within my home I will provide you all of these things to enjoy while you are here. But they will be washed before I or anyone else takes it for their own personal use. ;o)
What's the one thing you're most neurotic about?
I get this habit/neurosis from my dad. I'm pretty particular about not using lights when not in the room, as well as an even more particular habit of mine: checking all windows & doors before heading to bed. Windows and doors leading to the outside. I have to visually check them
before I can soundly sleep. They all have to be locked & doubly
locked before I can even think about falling asleep.
What quality in your best friend are you most envious of and why?
I figured the easiest way to answer this QOTD would be to pick the quality I admire the most out of each of them...
Laura: Perseverance. This woman has been through so much in her lifetime. But through it all she has managed a husband, great job, kids, and a home they can call their own. No matter what life brings to her doorstep, she has this uncanny ability of either appreciating the good in it or overcoming the obstacles it presents one way or another.
Maricel: Determination. She has been through much, too. But it has never wavered her from her specific goals in life. She maintains her focus...great wifey, mother, teacher (by trade), and best friend.
Dawn: Dependability. You need something or someone to be on time or just simply there for you, Dawn is the friend you turn to. She handles her responsibilities, obligations, and relationships all with equal attention to detail to ensure things don't get missed or forgotten.
Kim: Adaptability. Whoever coined the phrase, "Whenever life hands you lemons, make lemonade." probably knew someone exactly like Kim.
Shannon: Beauty. I hate to sound so superficial when it comes to her, because she has so many more redeeming qualities than just this. But you only need one glance at her to know, the woman is flippin' gorgeous.
Do you have a particular "catch phrase" for which you are known?

..... depends on the situation .....
Meeting up or answering the phone: "How you doin'?"
E-mail: "Take care" (I usually always end my e-mails this way)
Text: "Love you" (to both Brandon, family, and close friends)
Doing something on accident: "D'oh!" or "That's gonna hurt!"
When someone says something that could have "other" implications: "That's what he/she said."
Randomly: "Note to self" "Come....on"
